Agua Caliente

Twelve cards are used, an ace through six from two separate decks, with different color back sides. The cards will be shuffled and spread across the table face down. The first card of each color from one end shall be used to represent the roll. The odds are the same as with dice.

Barona

Six cards are used, numbered one to six. They are randomly placed in six positions on the table. The roll of two dice will determine which card(s) are turned over, that shall deterine the outcome for betting purposes. With each new shooter, the cards are re-arranged. The odds are the same as conventional craps.

Fantasy Springs

Same method as the Agua Caliente.

Harrah's

Two separate six-card decks, one red and one green, are used. Each shoe consists one each of ranks A, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. Aces count as one, all other ranks count according to its pip value. Six cards are dealt from each shoe. Two ordinary dice are thrown, one red and one green. The outcome of the dice determine which cards are turned over, which represent the roll. The odds are the same as conventional craps.

Normandie

Two partial decks are mixed together, each consisting of all four suits ranked ace to six. So, there are 48 cards total. Two cards are drawn without replacement. If they are the same suit, then there is no action. Otherwise, the two cards represent the roll. This is mathematically equivalent to using dice. There is also a 'No Call' bet, which pays 3 to 1 on two cards of the same suit. The house edge on that bet is 6.38%. As usual with the Los Angeles county casinos, the player must also pay about a 1% fee on all bets.

Pala

The following equipment is used: (A) A red die numbered with three 1's, and three 4's, (B) a blue die numbered with three 2's, and three 3's, and (C) A 36-card deck featuring all possible permutations of two dice. Two cards are drawn at random and placed face down over red and blue regions of the table. The dice are thrown. If the red die is higher then the red card is turned over and used as the roll, if the blue die is higher then the blue card is used. Note that there can be no ties. Also the blue die is irrelevant. A 1 on the red die will always lose to the blue die, and a 4 will always win. The odds are the same as conventional craps.

The 'Super Field' pays if both cards are the 1-1 and 6-6, in either order. Wins pay 500 to 1. The probability of winning is 0.154%, for a house edge of 22.685%.

Pechanga

Pechanga currently follows the Barona method (at least as of 7/26/16). They have previously used other methods so please don't write in to correct me unless you have very current information.

Pauma

A 73-card deck is used, consisting of 12 each of cards ace to six, and one joker. Two cards are drawn to determine the roll. If the first card is the joker, there is no action, and two new cards are drawn. If the second card is the joker, it shall match the first card. The odds are the same as conventional craps.

The joker side bet pays 60 FOR 1 if the first card is a joker. The probability of winning is 1.389%, for a house edge of 16.67%.

The four suit bets, one for each suit, win if both cards are the suit specified, and pays 14 FOR 1. The probability of winning is 5.822%, for a house edge of 18.493%.

San Manuel

Same procedure as Viejas, except 312 cards are in the shuffler and they call it just 'craps.'

Sycuan

The Sycuan follows the same procedure as Barona.

Viejas

The game is dealt at a blackjack-size table called 'Card Craps.' I'm told a 264-card shoe is used, consisting of 44 cards each of ranks ace to six. They start with five 54-card decks (9 cards each numbered 1 to 6), and then remove one of each face (5×54-6=264), to accomodate the shuffler. Two cards are drawn to represent the roll. Due to the effect of non-replacement, the odds will be slightly different from conventional craps.

The maximum win on odds bets is $1,000. If the player wishes to get that limit, with 10X odds after a pass or come bet, then he should not bet more than $10 on a pass or come bet, and $100 on a don't pass or don't come.

Chumash casino enhances COVID-19 safety program

As Santa Barbara County reinstated its highest, purple COVID-19 safety restrictions, Chumash Casino Resort has made changes to strengthen its health safety procedures and remain open 24 hours daily.

All guests require a mask and a non-touch temperature scan before entering. Over 1,000 protective barriers are installed throughout the property to protect guests, and additional spacing has been added to restaurants for safer seating. The food court is now located in the Samala Showroom for more space, and Willows now has limited seating on the outdoor patio. Also, the hotel's rooftop pool is now closed.

Chumash Casino Resort reopens June 10

May 28, 2020

Chumash Casino Resort will reopen at noon on Wednesday June 10 for the first time since closing March 15 for the COVID-19 pandemic. New safety and cleaning procedures will limit the available facilities. All guest must wear masks and pass a temperature check before entering.

The reopening of Chumash Casino does not include bingo or the poker room. Both will reopen at a later date. The restaurants that will not open until later are the Willows, The Cafe and The Buffet.

Other properties of the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians that will not reopen until later are the Hotel Corque, Root 246 restaurant, Hadsten House and the Kita Wines tasting room.

The Chumash Casino Resort received three AAA Four Diamond Awards for its two hotels and one restaurant. The awards were presented by the American Automobile Association, which inspected 2,400 hotels and restaurants last year to determine their level of excellence.

Chumash get state approval of off-track betting

October 16, 2018

Final approval has changed the current gaming compact between California and the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians allowing the tribe to offer off-track betting at their Chumash Casino Resort in Santa Ynez.

As of now, there are not any concrete plans to add the game to the casino. However, the tribe wanted the compact to at least give them the option to add it later if they wished to. Other tribal casinos are currently offering the game.

The original gaming compact between the tribe and state went into effect in 2015. The amendment would allow for satellite wagering venue to be built inside the tribe's casino. This off-track venue would allow for guests to bet on horse races.

On August 02, Gov. Jerry Brown signed the amendment. On August 28, it was voted approved by the state Senate. On August 28, it was passed by the Assembly.

Chumash Casino Hotels Win AAA Four Diamond Awards

The Chumash Casino Resort Hotel and Solvang's Hotel Corque have been awarded the AAA Four Diamond Award. The award is given yearly by the American Automobile Association. It is given in recognition to North America's and the Caribbean's finest hotels.

The Chumash Casino and Resort has received the award for every year for the last 14 years. Hotel Corque has received the award yearly for the last 7.

The award is given to a very elite group of hotels. The total is only 6.1 percent of the hotels that the AAA inspects will be eligible for the award.

In order to qualify, the hotels must achieve the highest level of service and hospitality. The offerings need to be upscale and stylish. Attention to detail is a must.

There are 320 guest rooms at the Chumash Casino Resort Hotel. Of those, 58 rooms are suites. There is a pool deck on the roof. Also a full service spa.

Hotel Corque offers 122 guest rooms. This includes 17 suites. There is also space for events or meetings that can take indoors or out.

AAA uses professional inspectors to survey they properties. The criteria is based on what travelers have been asking for.

There are only a few hotels that have received the Four Diamond award from AAA for multiple years in the Santa Ynez Valley.

Both the Chumash Casino Resort and Hotel Corque are owned and operated by the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians. The tribe also owns two gas stations, Root 246 and the Hadsten House.

Over 2,000 Santa Barbara County residents are employed by the tribe at one of their properties. This makes them the largest employer in the area.
